How We Do It

Let's Look in Our Toolbox

The SimTigrate Design Lab team uses a range of tools to identify, analyze and model current and proposed environments. We use spatial analysis, various types of simulation and field research to come up with our solutions. Whether we are inside the lab or outside, using computers or full-scale models, it is all about creating better spaces for patients, families and medical personnel. We collaborate with other Georgia Tech divisions, other academic institutions, governmental organizations, and industry to examine how design impacts patient outcomes.

Spatial Analysis

We measure visual and physical access within existing and proposed facilities.

Simulations

We use constructed, virtual and live simulations to help us understand physical environments.

Field Research

Not all of our work is done inside the SimTigrate lab: Sometimes we need to get out and observe.
